June 12 is Troop 101’s final meeting for the spring/summer. There will be a Court of Honor and BBQ! Please join us to celebrate all the Scouts’ accomplishments this year!
Patrol donations towards the BBQ include: Capybaras/Drinks, Cobras/Chips, Panthers/Desserts,
Krakens/Fruit and Vegetables, Eagles/Plates, Napkins, Cups, and Utensils, and Burning Blades/Salads.
Acadia Trip: All Scouts attending the Acadia Trip this August should plan on being at the June 5th Troop meeting for the final planning session.
Forms: Please keep an eye out via email and Facebook in the coming months for required forms for Acadia. Also, if your BSA medical forms are out of date, we will be seeking those out as well.
Acadia Planning Packet: Mr. Smith will be sending out the Planning packet on July 10th. It will contain all of the instructions for Acadia including the final official schedule, meeting times, individual equipment lists, etc.
Switzerland 2025:
Passports for Europe: For scouts and adults going to Switzerland, it’s time to start thinking about passports. If you already have a passport, make sure that it is good through December 31, 2025. If it is not, you will need to get a new one.
Remember that passports can take several months to process and receive. For youth passports, BOTH parents have to be present at time you go for the passport, with some special exceptions. Passports are MANDATORY. Please contact us for any help needed.
Deposit Schedule: The next Switzerland deposit is August 19th. It is very important that these be on time as we are booking flights in August. If you have any issues with the timing, please let Rick Smith know well in advance.
The schedule for the remaining deposits is the following: November 1st 2024: $500; February 1st 2025: $500; April 30th 2025: $1,000; Remaining amount due June 1st, 2025.
Special Considerations: In Acadia and in Switzerland, we will be giving the scouts the opportunities to do rock climbing, canyoning, water sports, hiking at high elevations, etc. etc. If you are aware of any special mental or physical issues that would make certain activities challenging or impossible for your scout, please let troop leadership know well in advance of the trip.
